Accomplishments of the Week - June 10, 2018

Accomplishment #1

This past week has been a tough one: teething baby, husband with a week-long migraine, preparing to move house in 3 weeks... so my first accomplishment has been to sort our cd collection and actually start packing a few boxes. Still a long way to go, but it feels good to have gotten started.

The thing that's kept me going through the stressful week has been my knitting. I'm working on a new sock pattern using Pizzicato in the Palestra colourway to be released next month. It's very simple, so a good project for me right now when I'm only able to knit a few minutes here and there.

My son really loves the colour and has asked for a pair of socks for himself if there's any yarn leftover. I'm not sure I'll have enough for a full pair of socks, but I do have some grey Cobblestone left from another project, so between the two I should be able to make a pair of boy's socks.

P.S.Check out my new J Hendry project bag I picked up at Fibrefest. Kittens and yarn, so cute!

One month ago, I found myself in the emergency room with unbearable back pain. I later learned it was caused by a herniated disc and osteoarthritis (OA) that had taken over my entire lower back. Would I ever be able to dye yarn again, let alone... knit...?

What do you do when you have a glut of watermelon? Freeze it and make watermelon slushie! I started doing this last summer and it's the perfect way to use up a watermelon, especially one that's a bit overripe. Plus, with a touch of lime and mint it really hits the spot on a hot day!
