Mosaic knitting is one of the easiest colourwork techniques. All you need to know is how to knit and slip stitches to create an intricate pattern. Mosaic knitting has fewer tension problems than in stranded knitting, since most floats are just one stitch long, and the finished fabric is stretchy and squishy!
If you'd like to try your hand at mosaic knitting, this Skill Builder Box is the perfect starting point! For this box we teamed up with Arella Seaton, who created the Larimar cowl pattern specifically for learning mosaic knitting. Larimar is a cosy, bandana-style accessory knit in our soft and squishy Minuet superwash merino - perfect for chilly weather.
Your Mosaic Knitting box will include two packets:
- Part 1 will include enough pre-wound yarn to jump in and start knitting some practice swatches right away, and links to the photo and video tutorials to guide you in your explorations.
- Part 2 will include the link to download the Larimar cowl pattern by Arella Seaton, and two skeins of our Minuet DK weight hand-dyed yarn in contrasting colours.
Debbie and Elizabeth will be your guides as you explore mosaic knitting, and you'll be invited to join our private online discussion group where you can ask any questions you might have and share photos of your project!
